This Western Bluebird was posing for me on that branch when it suddenly jumped down and flew away. I barely caught this striking bird as it took off. One of my favorites from that day. Links to the gallery and video below.

After taking the photo of the silhouetted tree, I was watching these hawks fly back and forth over the parking lot. It was far too dark to get a proper exposure of them, so I tried to capture a silhouette with the sunrise color behind them. It turned out very well! One of my favorites from this day.

This was the first photo I took on that morning. The sunrise was so cool, but I had no vantage point or way to see more. This tree was silhouetted so nicely I had to take a photo. The colors and contrast really made it shine.
I had a lucky morning in early February. I was able to observe and photograph at least one, possibly two Snowy Egrets. This one was very early in the morning with some beautiful golden light reflecting off the creek. The egret was making these waves which was just perfect in the calm morning water.
